Ceiling

White washed cedar (big thanks to Pat!), milled down the center (big thanks to Charlie!), flanks the decorative 2' x 2' tin panels.

In the end, because I found the metal's high contrasting lights and darks to be distracting when drawing, I decided to take them down and paint them white.

Main thing missing: CROWN MOLDING. To be continued.

  1. I love your blog! I've always wanted to build my own little house on my own little piece of land. I saw the documentary & was inspired to pursue my life long dreams of permanently dropping out of the rat race by you & the others in it. I've always felt that I'd be more comfortable in a very small space with just the basics to live on. My youngest daughter will be on her own in a few years & that's when I'm going to start my semi retirement!
In the meantime I plan on beginning construction of my own tiny home & am looking forward to your plans being made available!!
Thank you for being an inspiration to others!
